Graeme is a highly experienced academic leader in Accounting, Business Information System and Economics. He has a deep understanding of academic and industry standards in Accounting, including with CPA Australia and CAANZ. Graeme has worked as an academic and leader for over 30 years in Australian Universities. Graeme’s strength in teaching arises from the combination of his formal teaching qualification, work experience in chartered accounting firms, extensive teaching experience at both secondary and tertiary levels, and leadership in research. His academic research has resulted in over 60 refereed publications, attained over $800,000 in research grants and has been invited as a speaker in national and international conferences. Graeme’s major areas of research publication includes Auditor independence, Audit expectation gap and audit education, Bioeconomic evaluation of aquaculture facilities, Accounting for goodwill and identifiable intangibles (including IFRS), Government accounting methods, budget reporting and rate of return reporting, The fair value concept and principles from legal decisions, Rural and regional Australian accounting firm services, Director changes and recognition of abnormal and extraordinary items, Segment reporting, Conceptual framework for financial reporting, Current cost accounting and Accounting history.

Associate Professor Mohamed Omran Member (Course Coordinator) PhD in Accounting (La Trobe University), Master of Accounting (South Valley University), Bachelor of Commerce (South Valley University)

Omran possesses a high level of competence and experience in teaching accounting over the last 27 years at the university level’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs and courses. He reached this level through his working with many universities including South Valley University (Egypt), University of Ballarat, La Trobe University, Central Queensland University, and Gulf University of Science and Technology (Kuwait). He gained his Ph.D. from La Trobe University (2008). He published many accounting papers in prestige peer-reviewed conferences and journals (e.g., The British Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting & Organizational Change, Asian Review of Accounting, BAA Annual Conference, and Oxford Business & Economics Conference). His area of research interest includes corporate financial reports and disclosure, accounting and reporting practices in developing countries, corporate social responsibility, and corporate governance. He is an advisory board member and a blind reviewer for many international accounting journals and he has supervised many research students. He is a member of the Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA), the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA), and the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ).
